Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When should my child first see a dentist?

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first dental visit by age one, or within six months of the first tooth erupting. Early visits help establish a dental home and prevent problems before they start.

How often should my child come in for checkups?

Most children benefit from checkups every six months. Some kids with higher cavity risk may need to come in more frequently β€” we'll let you know what's right for your child.

Do you accept new patients?

Yes! We're always welcoming new patients and their families. You can request an appointment online or give us a call at (919) 391-3813.

What insurance do you accept?

We accept most major dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, United Healthcare, and NC Medicaid. Call us to verify your specific plan.

What if my child is anxious about the dentist?

This is very common and we're very good at it. We use child-friendly language, take things at the child's pace, and offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for anxious patients. We've never met a kid we couldn't help feel comfortable.

Do you treat children with special healthcare needs?

Absolutely. We're trained and equipped to care for children with a wide range of special healthcare needs, including sensory sensitivities, developmental differences, and complex medical histories. We take extra time and adapt our approach for every child.

Still have questions? We'd love to hear from you.
